Project Description

The site is situated in Wokingham Town Centre and covers an area of approximately 0.4 hectares.

The existing shop units in 19-21 Market Place consist of long and narrow retail units at ground floor and office accommodation at upper levels.

The proposal involves the demolition of 19-20 Market Place and partial demolition of 21 Market Place (with the front façade that’s looks on to Market Place itself being retained) and the creation of a new 3-4 storey mixed-use commercial and residential scheme.

The proposal also includes a public square and a private landscaped courtyard on a podium deck concealing the car parking below.

A Resolution to Grant Planning Consent was given in February 2024, subject to conditions and a Section 106 Agreement.

Proposed mixed-use development comprising of the following:-

  • 60 Residential Dwellings (21 no. 1-bed / 34 no. 2-bed / 5no. 3-bed)
  • Commercial Floorspace of 468m² / 5,037 ft²
  • 36 Car Parking Spaces (including car club provision)
  • Outdoor Amenity Space
